65th Reunion
St. Peter's Church, Locust Valley, Barnesville, PA
Sunday, July 13th 2008

It was a beautiful day, with a combination of warm, humid, but breezy, that ended in a thunder storm but fortunately not until we were already packed up and on our way home.  We had a great amount of children who enjoyed games led by Jill such as potato sack races and other games, plus a game of baseball, Uno, and Bocce Ball for the 'older kids.'  With all of the fun we totally forgot to take a group photo and other photos.

No one had a difficult time finding the location and many commented on how nice of a place it is.  Some responded this year saying that they could not attend due to the costly gasoline prices which was quite understandable.  Even though we had an attendance of only 45 this year, we had a great variety of wonderful food.  Thank you to everyone for the culinary delights!

The schedule ran close to the following:

9:30am            Set up

Noon               Drop off covered dish/dessert

Registration and Information session

                                    -Get photos scanned
                        -Update family tree

Write down your bid for the candy guessing game

Buy a Fritz Family Cookbook

                        Mingling

1:00pm            Meeting

Minutes – Corresponding & Recording Secretaries:  Ruth Throne announced that people were not RSVPing which threw off our count to gauge how much BBQ/hot dogs/buns to make and buy.  People were reminded to please RSVP and do not assume that we know that you are attending.  Mailing statistics:  93 newsletter/invitations sent, 9 returned as undeliverable, with E-mail and phone responses and one address update.  Through RSVPs to Ruth, 16 were known to be attending, but with through other planning committee members, we knew of about 27 coming and a few of those people couldn't make it in the end.
The meeting minutes from last year were in the newsletter/invitation mailing so they were approved without having to be read aloud.

Treasurer’s Report
Last quarter ending June 30, 2008 found us with a balance of $1,042.95 including interest.
Between cookbook sales and generous donations from this year's reunion attendees (THANK YOU!), we were able to deposit $456 bringing us to a new balance of $1,498.95.  Out of this account we pay park fees, hot dogs & buns perhaps, paper products, web site hosting and domain fees, mailing and bulletin copying, and postage amongst other expenses for reunions and book publishing.
